Tech Week is a week-long event that is taking place in the U building from Monday 19th February to Thursday 22nd February. It consists of a series of talks and workshops from industry professionals, Redbrick alumni and Redbrick members. It’s a week not to miss so keep an eye on the timetable below!
The schedule is as follows:
MONDAY, 19/02/24 (in the Hive)
- John Looney: 20 years working with large-scale distributed systems - 14:00-15:00
- Dr. Michael Scriney: Machine Learning - 15:00-16:00
TUESDAY, 20/02/24 (in the Pairc)
- James Hackett: Sourcing and installing servers in Redbrick - 14:00-15:00
- Dominic Connor: Where do we go from here? - 15:00-16:00
WEDNESDAY, 21/02/24 (in the Pairc)
- Ben McMahon: If: Problem solving under pressure - 14:00-15:00
- Cian Butler: Keeping data encrypted in memory with confidential computing - 15:00-16:00
- Lightning Talks - 16:00-17:00
THURSDAY, 22/02/24 (in the Cuilin)
- Max Vizard: Introduction to MicroPython - a guided introduction to control LEDs, buttons, sensors and more. Overview presentation and then attendees can work through the material, they need a laptop and a MicroUSB cable. - 16:00-18:00

It’s here!! Tech Week has officially begun. We have multiple speakers giving presentations and workshops on topics such as Redbrick’s infrastructure, machine learning, microPython and more! They will be taking place in the U building from Monday 19th - Thursday 22nd of February so make sure to come along!
