How To Login

In the top right corner of the page, you should see a button labled 'login now'. If you hit that, it'll start up a telnet session and connect you to the machine. At that point you'll be presented with the login screen, at the bottom of which you'll see a prompt like

login:

This is where you type the username that you chose when you joined (If you haven't joined yet, you can find out how to here). Make sure you enter it in all lowercase.

Next you'll be presented with a prompt like

Password:

This is where you type the password you were given when you joined. Note that here what you type is case-sensitive, and that it won't be echoed to the screen (If it were, people could read your password over your shoulder and login as you!).

If you've typed your username and password correctly, you should be logged in to the system and from there you can proceed to use it as described elsewhere in the helpfiles. Good luck!

Note that if you haven't joined yet you won't have a username and password with which to login, and if you're otherwise having trouble logging in, get on to the committee by mailing them at committee@minds.cs.may.ie.
